She does make a fair point regarding giving the baby an opportunity to live. However, different women have different circumstances and different aspirations. If women who have been victims of rape, for example, feel like the next 9 months are going to be hell for them, they should be given the choice of abortion of the pregnancy.

I have read of a woman who drowned her 6-year-old girl, quite a sad video: she submerged that baby into water and the child struggled but couldn’t yell - horrendous. She left the baby to soak like some laundry in this big bucket of water because she said, and I’m paraphrasing here, the baby essentially ruined her life.

Women are already hated for existing by some men, they have period pains and cramps, have to deal with catcalling, sexual assaults, have to deal with sexist remarks, are fearful of their lives at night, are told to conform to men’s expectations (especially in Africa) and now rape victims shouldn’t consider abortion? Because, what, people on the sidelines know what’s best for women? NO.

Leave the woman to decide for herself. She should abort her baby as long as it is safe to do so. I suspect there are mental implications that the woman suffers when she is forced to keep a rapist's child. Some just despise their children and unleash that hate on them, likely resulting ultimately in the death of the child, in the end.

Thanks for the poignant article, it made me appreciate my mum more, but that doesn’t mean my mum deserves to go to hell or is morally abhorrent if she had aborted me when she was struggling to feed herself, let alone twins.
