A message to Candace Owens: Why Candace Owens should be less caustic to Cardi B.

So this is going to be a really short piece about Candace Owens and Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, a.k.a Cardi B.

I have watched a handful of Owen’s political videos online and I can categorically say that she is one verbally intelligent conservative woman. One who is unequivocally unapologetic to her cause, which is to “wake up black America”.

The opportunity to do so (wake up black America) is staring her right in the face, but she has chosen to ignore it because of her visceral dislike towards the values that Cardi B holds.

Almanzar, whose stage name is Cardi B, is a bubbly, talented and Hollywood Hip Hop star. She has been involved in online tirades with Owen over her (Cardi B) lifestyle.

I’m not going to waffle on in detail about how these two individuals should live their lives, or why they are going at it like petulant kids. But the essence of this piece is to implore Owen to look beyond the politics around her feud with Cardi B and use this opportunity to connect with the black community that she so wants to awaken.

Owen, a republican, purports to persuade the black community who are predominantly democrats. About 83% of the black demographic in America is of the democratic party.

So far, Owen has always taken a lecturing approach in trying to sway black Democrats over. This tactic has clearly failed as 11.31% of 13% of black people voted Biden into office. It begs the question, really, why does she (Owen) think that any black person of the democrat persuasion would listen to her after she harangues them in a bid to “wake them up from mental slavery”?

Owen, if you really want to help the black community out, ditch your ideology for an ephemeral period because it is blindsiding you from realising the truth. Which is, a black democrat will not listen to a black republican who does not listen to them, already has a preconceived notion about them and who thinks they know better.

Seize this opportunity with Cardi B because she has more influence and connection with the black community than you. Her song WAP should not be an avenue for you to lecture her — like you always do. Connect with her, listen to her; make her your point of contact to the black community. And maybe you will “wake them up”?

It’s either that or you just change your tactic :)
